Blues are back. We are happy to announce that the Das Keyboard 4 Ultimate with MX Blue switches are now available on our store. Along with the Das Keyboard 4 Ultimate with MX Blue switches, we are also announcing that the RFID Hacksheild Backpack and Messenger bag are available.

The Das keyboard 4 Professional with MX Brown and Das Keyboard Ultimate MX Brown/Blue are both still unavailable. We are working hard and they should be available to you shortly.

It has come to our attention that some of the Das Keyboard 4’s which were shipped out July 1 – July 8 may experience an issue with the USB hub. While we have not had any customer reports regarding this issue, we can’t risk sending out a keyboard that might not meet our standards.

At Das Keyboard, we take the quality of our products very seriously and expect the best for our customers. Therefore, we have decided to stop shipping all DK4 keyboards from the newest production batch and new keyboards are in the process of being produced.

We anticipate the new, updated Das Keyboard 4 keyboards be available within the next 3-4 weeks. We will provide updates on the expected timeframe for receiving new units as more information becomes available. We will send out an email notification via our newsletter, to start receiving the newsletter signup here.

We will also provide updates on our blog. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you. We understand that this is frustrating, but we don’t take any chances with quality and only want you to have the best products.

  1. Other than the remapping, there won’t be much else different. The media controls should work with iTunes, but other internet apps(Pandora) they won’t always work. This is due to the fact that the media controls operate the master controls and the apps themselves don’t recognize the keys. For Mac, the “Scr Lk” and “Pause” keys will function as your bright controls, but you shouldn’t run into any problems.

  5. I placed my order a long while back (May 10th). Do you know approximately how long until (not me) Canada Computers will be getting their shipments? Anything more specific than soon?

  7. I bought a Das Pro 4 and received it today. Plugged it in and I got a ‘USB Device not recognised’ message! Does this have anything to do with this ‘bad batch’? I’ve already raised a tech request with your team, just hoping there’s a simple fix and I don’t have to return the keyboard.

    I’m running Windows Vista Ultimate 64bit with a Gigabyte motherboard with 8 USB 2.0 ports. This is the first time I’ve ever had a problem with a USB device. Even my 2014 portable Western Digital My Passport USB powered hard drive (with USB 3.0) works fine. Very disappointed right now.


  8. Creating the support ticket is the best way to get your answer. They have seen your ticket and are working on getting you some answers. This doesn’t have anything to do with the recent USB issue. That issue is referring to the USB ports on the keyboard itself.

  10. Hi, I placed an order on your site and it said that the MX Brown switches for the Das Keyboard 4 Ultimate is not in stock. I just assumed it wasn’t updated and went ahead and placed my order anyway. Then the confirmation e-mail also stated that it wasn’t in stock. Does that mean that you’re out of stock again already?

  12. After another night of testing and troubleshooting the problem without any success, I returned my Das Professsional 4 to the retailer today and exchanged it for a Corsair K70 Red. I got a very brief response from the Das support team. The K70 connected without a hitch, and Windows Vista ran its automatic USB installation and recognised the exact model.

    My conclusion is there was a hardware incompatibility bug with the Das Pro 4 and Windows Vista 64bit Ultimate. I don’t know if anyone else has experienced this but it was very frustrating. I hope the Das Team can do more testing and resolve this issue, as I haven’t ruled out buying another one in the future. I love the design and feel of the Das Pro 4 and will keep my eye out for a future revision.

  13. Seeing that the MX Brown’s are now back in stock, should I have received any kind of confirmation that my order from May 22 has shipped? I’m perfectly understanding of circumstances that have been beyond your control, but with an order that is now pushing two months old, I would think it would be at the front of the line for orders to be shipped.

  24. This is getting to the point of finding another keyboard. I ordered mine in May and switched due to Amazon having no stock. 2 and a half months later you still haven’t fulfilled that order. It’s time for you to step up or bow out and you seem to be favoring the later.

    Purchased your Keyboard 4 Brown Switch recently. It works great on my mac, but trying to plug-n-play on my PC is a no go. Running Windows 7 64 bit and it’s not recognizing it as a device. Any ideas? Looked through the FAQ, but it says that it should work because it’s just a plug-n-play.

  32. My keyboard looks smaller than many of the das keyboards shown in reviews. Have you guys shrinked a dimension of the keyboard for a newer version. I currently have the das keyboard ultimate model s.


  33. Hi Anand – Thanks for reaching out. The dimensions for the Model S are 18in x 6.5in x 1in (thickest portion, feet not extended, 1.5in w/ extended feet). And, the dimensions for the Das Keyboard 4 are 18 x 6.8 x .80 inches.

  34. I just got my das keyboard model s and i was impressed at the typing experience and everything. That was until i had to deal with the glossy surface being dusty 24/7 and not being able to pull out the keycaps and get custom keycaps because I live in Canada. Now while vacumming it my vacuum tube (a piece of plastic) was able to scratch it and make my premium product look like trash because there is a huge scratch on the label and num lock and led’s. Is this just a brand name product and not a quality brand? I was fidgeting with my keyboard and i lightly pressed on my keyboard with my nail (i have short nails) and a permanent scratch formed that looked horrible.


  35. The surface on my daskeyboard is being extremely soft and getting scratches easily just from my nails. Is this normal? Please help!! My usb port on my daskeyboard model s ultimate isn’t even working either.

  38. I received my NEW Das Keyboard 4 Professional Cheery MX Brown. The Enter key on the number pad is abnormally stiff due to the defective stabilizer. Asked how to fix the problem. They were so responsive. Although I tried everything, it did not fix the problem. I asked them to exchange or return the product. They stop responding so far (it is so funny!). No phone line to contact the company! Return policies are useless. I will do everything to exercise my right.

  45. same here, what is more infuriating is that i have submitted a support ticket back on sept 12, and have yet to have someone contact me to help resolve the issue. Multiple posts in that support ticket by me have gone ignored. Are you guys in the Das Keyboard support team going to help me with this issue or exchange my device that I paid 180 dollars for, or am I on my own here?

  47. I’m super excited about getting a Das Keyboard 4 Brown Switch– but I’d rather wait until one is available with a Mac layout. Do you anticipate this happening anytime soon?


  48. I had the same issue, only the problem was on the right side – a web search seems to imply this is not an uncommon problem. The keyboard doesn’t sit level and the right front rubber foot wasn’t contacting the desk — so with the red bar on, the only grip point was the left front and the keyboard slipped around a lot… I did submit a ticket, but since they’re requiring me to return my keyboard before they’ll send out a replacement (and I was told it could be up to 5 days at das for evaluation; on top of what appears to be about a week ground shipping each way…) I decided the downtime would be way too long. I just built up some tape on one side of the red bar to level it. Ridiculous for something this expensive, but it’s an awesome keyboard otherwise! Too bad the red bar doesn’t have some grip/traction on its own.
